Update from Pip and Squeak!

Life is Wonderful!

"Both are absolutely fine  -  very loving, but still a bit timid, although they’ve found several hiding places around the house that they seem to enjoy.  They are beginning to chat to me and showing some confidence in their surroundings.

We’ve not decided on any change of name at the moment (if at all, as I like Pip and Squeak!), but I’ve nick named Pip “Trouble” as having been here for only 36 hours she decided to escape out of the back door at midnight and very soon encountered our next door neighbours cat (Eddie).

She went in to his garden and got promptly chased back into our garden, across it, up the fence on to our other next door neighbours flat roof and then on to nearly the top of their roof!  Lots of growling and whining entailed for about 2 hours whilst I’m at ground level trying not to wake the neighbour, but to encourage Pip down.  I managed to get Eddie over the fence at the front to give Pip and chance to get down and we nearly got her after an hour of coaxing, but she escaped my husband’s hold, to then going flying over the side gate to the front garden and meet Eddie again!  Lots of growling again and then at 3.30ish (with both sons still up and awake), I’m afraid I told everyone to get to bed as we couldn’t see her (she’s obviously all black and had lost her new collar in the bushes somehow) and couldn’t hear her, so I slept for an hour or so, got up at about 5am and went down stairs to hear a meow and find her on the front doorstep calling to be let in!!  Phew, what a relief!!!  Needless to say she found herself a nice place under our bed and slept all day!  - all right for some!!

I hope she’s learnt her lesson, and she’s obviously in for some territory battles with Eddie!  Squeak is just as good as gold!

They’re both now giving body language and behaviour as though they are very relaxed and owning this home – the “mad half hour” of chasing around the house and jumping on each other has started!  It’s wonderful!"
