We will continue to help stray and needy animals
Articles in the national press in late April 2010 such as The Times and The Daily Telegraph very clearly say that the RSPCA will turn away animals due to cost cutting measures. These articles are based on a press release from RSPCA head office which talks about priorities at a national level.
Each branch of the RSPCA (including us) is a seperate charity, with very few branches receiving any funds from the national charity. It is the branches who handle support and rehoming of needy and stray animals.
We do not receive any funds from the national RSPCA charity and must raise all our own funds to look after the animals in our care. Although we support the national desicion to prioritise cruelty cases, Maidenhead and East Berkshire RSPCA branch will continue to take in as many stray and needy cats and dogs as we can manage.
Please feel free to contact us if you need advice or help to rehome your cats or dogs.
