This is the website for the Maidenhead and East Berkshire branch of the RSPCA. If you want to know what your local animal charity is up to, then you have come to the right place. You can find details of forthcoming events, news related to our activities and listings for the animals we are currently rehoming.

The RSPCA is the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Each branch is an an independent charity and we raise funds and work for the rehoming of dogs and cats in our area. We are funded entirely by donations.

Help us by using the Internet

You can shop online at thousands of retailers and we get a donation every time you buy. Stores like Amazon, John Lewis, Tesco, Asda, Comet, BT, Vodaphone, *draws a breath* Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury, Apple, Thomas Cook, Dell, B&Q, Sky - you get the idea!

So it doesn't matter if it's your weekly shop or a special present, you can order online via Give as you Live, pay the same price as normal and donate to your favourite charity.

You can also raise funds for our branch by searching the Internet with Everyclick.

Sign in and select RSPCA Maidenhead and East Berkshire as your charity. The search engine is powered by Yahoo. A small amount will be donated to us for every search made. If you do not want your name displayed on the Everyclick site you can log in as “Anonymous”.

Can you spare 1-2 hours a week?

Our branch is currently looking for new volunteers to join our team in the following positions:

• Home checkers
  • Interview and check the homes of new potential adopters
  • Available mid-week, based in Maidenhead, Bracknell, Wokingham or Crowthorne
  • Training provided. Shadowing another home checker initially
• Fundraising team member
  • Usually weekends
  • Corporate fundraising
  • Contact with local businesses & corporations, and associated administration
  • Help with occasional street collections, events, coming up with new ideas
  • Telephone calls & letter writing
• Animal Transport
  • Taking our animals between the kennels, fosterers and vets
  • Available mid-week from 8am, in the Maidenhead area, suitable vehicle essential
